ABOUT THIS SITE

Emetophobia is hard.

As an emetophobic of 12 years (2012 was when I was officially diagnosed though I probably had it to some degree before then) I've often turned to the internet for support. Surprisingly there aren't a lot of websites out there with organized trigger warnings or resource pages.

In early 2017 I decided to start this site as a place for people with emetophobia to turn to when they need information. I started by re-watching some of my favorite movies to see whether they were safe. I used Netflix to see what movies were popular and took time to screen those too. At times it was tough to screen scenes with triggers, but then I would think of all of those times I had searched the internet for a movie warning and how thankful I've been the times I've found that information.

Being able to watch a movie with peace of mind is something that seems so small, but means so much.

My hope is that this site becomes a useful tool for someone out there struggling with this phobia.

I want this to be collaborative. I have included a page under the CONTACT/SUBMIT tab that has a list of movies that need screened. Anyone can submit a warning or report that a movie is safe. We can build this site together and help one another.

I am not a professional. Please speak to your doctor if your emetophobia is effecting your everyday life.
